local goals

We believe there's potential for start-up business and social finance
to deliver solutions for the UN's Sustainable Development Goals

Pineapple is a UK social enterprise set up to incubate, accelerate and finance commercial businesses for profit, purpose and impact.

In 2015, countries around the world adopted 17  Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs or Global Goals) with a target of achieving these goals by 2030. Pineapple believes that there’s strong potential for start-up businesses and social finance to deliver solutions to help tackle these goals more locally.

But we can’t focus on all 17 goals aimed at tackling climate change, resource scarcity, societal imbalance, shifting population and distribution of wealth.

We need to find out which "Local Goals” are considered the most important ones to solve in Thames Valley. With this focus, we aim to collaborate with local enterprises to incubate and launch innovative commercial start-up businesses and deploy social finance to tackle our Local Goals for the long-term.

Pineapple has launched the first SDG  survey of its kind in the Thames Valley. This will establish if there's potential for start-up business and social finance to deliver solutions for local Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? #localgoals
