Pineapple's Positive Interactions Event

Pineapple Partnerships - Positive Interactions event

Pineapple had a wonderful time seeing old and new friends at our first Positive Interactions event held on 28 June at independently owned Broad Street Bar and Kitchen, Reading.

We gathered everyone together to offer thanks to those who have helped us on our journey, and who we hope to work with in the future. Our CEO, Andy Dewis, provided an update on Pineapple's progress, projects and impact in what guests described on the night as a "fun" and "refreshing" presentation.

Pineapple's journey started in early 2017 when Andy gathered a team with a shared passion to create more innovative businesses with purpose. We all believe that by creating more positive interactions between corporates, start-ups, industry experts and finance providers, we can help drive more purpose through commercial business; and in turn tackle the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Meet the Founders

We were delighted to introduce the inspirational, Nicholas ('Nic') Woodhams, Founder of our new start-up partnership, Adventure Pass, to our guests.

"2 in 5 children leave school obese and £20bn is spent by the government each year as a result of inactivity. I want to help solve this with Adventure Pass." Nic Woodhams

Adventure Pass is the first app and web portal offering discounts on the rental of actions sports equipment and booking tuition. Nic's mission is to enable more people to be active, more often. For every pass sold, one will be donated to charities that encourage disadvantaged children and young adults to experience the outdoors.

We were pleased to host our other partners, including Sharon Heathcote of Community Sponsors Homes (pictured below second left), an organisation set up to solve housing inequality with commercial solutions. Their first initiative will see the launch of the first investment fund dedicated to providing wheelchair accessible properties to privately rent in London. Pineapple partnered with the organisation's Founders, Eleanor Bowden and David Toplas, to help launch the initiative by offering social impact research, marketing and fundraising services.

And...Maggie (pictured below) and Peter Sikora of Mapis, an amazing organisation in Berkshire focused on preparing disadvantaged young adults to be life ready, then work ready for the retail, fashion and beauty industries. They recently launched their Suit2Go project, providing second hand tailored suits and styling advice to unemployed young men attending job interviews. Mapis attended our Founder's Day in January 2018 and we hope to work together in the future.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to the inspirational people who attended from the social investment, corporate, government and charity worlds, and to those who could not. We look forward to welcoming you along the next stage our journey.

In the words of A.A. Milne...
